Dr. Plotkin received his M.D. magna cum laude at Boston University School of Medicine and his fellowships in movement as well as neuromuscular disorders at Harvard Medical School and affiliated hospitals, such as the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He also holds a Ph.D. from M.I.T.
He specializes in movement disorders (Parkinsonism, essential tremor, dystonias, gait disorders, tic syndromes, etc.), but also treats a wide range of general neurological disorders. He is board certified and is a member of the honorary society Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as having received a number of other awards. He has held numerous appointments at Harvard, Tufts and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He is currently the medical director of the Movement Disorders Center of the East Texas Medical Center Neurological Institute. He evaluates patients for Deep Brain Stimulation and does programming for DBS in his office. His treatments also include electrodiagnostics and botox injections for dystonia.
