1. Check-in: Proof of membership or program participation is required for facility usage. All members must check-in using either the membership computer or the sign-In sheet. Members observed not checking in will be asked to do so to verify membership.
2. Membership: Each member is issued a membership number. Members must enter their membership number at the membership desk prior to utilizing the facility.
3. Age Requirement: All members and guests must be at least 18 years of age unless participating in a special program.
4. Guest Policy: A guest must register and pay a guest fee prior to using the facility. A guest is also required to complete an informed consent form and a Physical Activity Readiness- Questionnaire (PAR-Q). Out-of-town guests may purchase a limited guest pass. This limited guest pass does not include a fitness assessment and exercise prescription. If these services are desired please see a staff member to make special arrangements.
5. Emergency Procedures: Should an accident occur at the Olympic Center, immediately report it to a staff member. Should you or a family member become ill or injured while at the Olympic Center:, we reserve the right to call an ambulance.
6. Valuables and Personal Property: The Olympic Center is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. Members are discouraged from bringing valuables into the club. Lost and Found inquiries should be made through the front Receptionist Desk.
7. Locker Rooms:
a) Lockers are for day use only!
b) Tyler members must exchange their membership card or car keys for a locker key. Keys must be returned after your visit. Management will remove any articles left in a locker over night.
8. Tobacco Products: Tobacco products (including smokeless products) are prohibited in the Olympic Center.
9. Water Cooler and Cups: Members should discard used water cups in the appropriate container.
10. Towels: Towels are provided for the convenience of Olympic Center members and patients. Towels must remain in the facility and should be returned to a "soiled linen" container after use. Please limit yourself to two towels.
11. Personal Training: Our Olympic Center staff is available for personal training services during their "non-floor hours." Use of non-Olympic Center trainers in the facility is strictly prohibited.
12. Member Conduct: Management reserves the right to ask disruptive members to leave the facility and premises. Loud, profane or abusive language and harassment of members will not be tolerated.
13. Group Exercise Classes: Class participants are expected to arrive before the class begins. If you arrive after the class has started please be respectful to the other participants and minimize your disruption while getting in your place. Participants are expected to follow class routines and teacher instruction.
14. Fitness Assessments, Exercise Prescriptions and Strength Training Orientations: All members are encouraged to participate in a complete fitness assessment that includes blood pressure, heart rate, a submaximal cardio-respiratory test, a strength test, a flexibility test and body composition. Our staff of exercise specialists will evaluate this information and your health screen to design your fitness program. If for personal reasons, you do not wish to participate in a full fitness assessment please inform the staff. You may sign-up for your assessment and strength orientation at either the fitness desk or the first floor reception desk (Tyler only). Members are encouraged to participate in fitness assessments every six months.
15. Dress Code:
a) Proper athletic attire is required for all areas.
b) Shirt & shoes must be worn at all times in the gym.
c) Open-toed shoes are prohibited while exercising in the gym.
d) Aqua shoes are strongly recommended in the pool and locker areas.
e) Swimming attire is required for the pool area. A dark shirt and dark shorts are recommended for participants that do not have a swimsuit.
f) Participants wearing swimsuits must have a proper "cover-up" when outside the pool area.
g) Swimsuits are prohibited in the exercise area.
h) Participants are discouraged from wearing strong perfumes and/or colognes.
