Injury Treatment
East Texas employees injured at work can receive treatment for routine/minor injuries in an efficient manner at an ETMC Business Health facility. The program also provides access to highly qualified specialty physicians, such as an in-house orthopedic specialist, with appropriate referrals made by ETMC Business Health representatives to avoid unnecessary delays.
Following the initial evaluation of injuries, employers receive a copy of the patient’s report at the time of discharge, and the ETMC Business Health program provides follow-up care within the clinic or through claims and appropriate documentation as needed.
Comprehensive Evaluation and Care
Through ETMC’s Rehabilitation Center, physical and occupational therapists work with physicians and employers to design individualized treatment and work conditioning programs to assist injured workers in preparing to return to the workplace.
ETMC Business Health can implement customized physical and rehabilitative evaluations for your employees. Pre-placement evaluations often include a physical assessment of an employee’s ability to perform a particular job. Functional capacity evaluations help assess and quantify an employee’s impairment due to workplace injury. Ergonomics testing and consulting is also available to help reduce musculoskeletal disorders caused by inefficient workplace or job design.
Drug Testing
Each year, drug abuse costs U.S. companies billions, with business and industry paying the bill in increased absenteeism, decreased productivity, theft, injuries, and increased insurance premiums. ETMC Business Health can help you protect your business and your employees with 24-hour post accident drug screenings, pre-employment drug testing, and random drug testing programs.
ETMC Business Health ensures that all collection protocols are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) is performed by certified technicians and an on-site certified medical review officer (MRO) is available to discuss results.
Immunizations
Based on each company’s requirements, ETMC Business Health can provide employees with immunizations against diseases such as hepatitis, tetanus, measles and influenza. Comprehensive on-site care and wellness checkups are also available.
Physical Examinations
Medical examinations assist in determining an employee’s physical fitness and general health status. These exams help employers determine if an employee is physically matched to his or her job requirements and decide if individual work accommodations or health education is needed.
Examinations are conducted by staff members trained in evaluating employees before placement in the workplace and in treating those who do encounter on-the-job injuries. Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals are conducted by Dr. Sharon Evers, who is board certified in occupational medicine.
Audiometric Testing
Baseline and ongoing medical surveillance testing for hearing can be performed at ETMC Business Health facilities. Such tests help businesses whose employees are exposed to workplace noise meet OSHA requirements.
We employ an industrial audiometric technician who is certified by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
Pulmonary Function Testing
Baseline and ongoing evaluation for pulmonary/lung function can be performed at ETMC Business Health facilities by personnel certified by trained technicians. We also offer respirator fit testing.
