ETMC Tyler lab reaccredited

East Texas Medical Center Tyler’s laboratory has been reaccredited by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The inspection form noted “very good lab and the employees are very professional and exhibit excellent customer service.” ETMC South Broadway was also reaccredited.

ETMC is one of more than 6,000 CAP-accredited labs nationwide. “During the process, inspectors examine the lab’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years,” noted Joy Anderson, lab director. “CAP inspectors also examine the entire staff’s qualifications, the equipment, facilities, safety programs and records and overall management. This stringent inspection program is designed to ensure the highest standard of care for the lab’s patients.”
