Short-term stabilization services are available at ETMC Behavioral Health Center for individuals who are at risk for suicide and who are experiencing severe mood and thought disorders, serious emotional trauma, psychotic disorders including schizophrenia or are in danger of acute withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs.
A multi-disciplinary treatment team will provide careful assessment during this initial treatment phase to assure referral to the appropriate treatment. An individualized treatment plan developed in cooperation with the treatment team, patient and/or family members promotes the recovery process and a rapid return home to family and friends.
