The Olympic Center Health Enhancement programs take place in the ETMC Rehabilitation Center and are not included in Olympic Center membership fees. Aqua Arthritis Program
Held in our lap pool, this specialized water exercise program improves joint flexibility and relieves pain and stiffness for people living with arthritis. Our instructors are trained by the Arthritis Foundation. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and also Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
After Baby Shape Up
New mothers can ease into shape again by joining this special fitness course. Mothers who are two weeks to six months post-delivery are invited to participate in a series of stretching, toning, water aerobics and cardiovascular exercise led by qualified staff.
Fit For Two
A prenatal fitness class that helps "moms to be" prepare for their new arrival, Fit For Two offers overall physical conditioning, including low impact aerobics, stretching, toning, water aerobics and childbirth fitness. Sponsored in part by the ETMC Family Birthplace, this program also provides fun, social interaction and support for participants.
Healthy Pursuits
If you are medically-at-risk or just beginning an exercise routine, Healthy Pursuits offers safe and effective approaches to fitness within a highly-supervised environment. Exercise physiologists and registered nurses provide a personal exercise prescription based on your current level of fitness. Classes are held Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the Olympic Center.
Parkinson's Community Exercise Program
The Parkinson's exercise class is for those diagnosed with Parkinson's or Parkinson's like diseases. This exercise class is designed to maintain strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. The class meets twice weekly in the outpatient therapy gym on the first floor of the Rehabilitation Hospital and is under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant. Class size is limited to six participants per class. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Phase III Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab
This exercise program is designed as a maintenance program for Phase II graduates and as a beginning exercise program for patients that do not qualify for Phase II. The program is conducted in the cardiopulmonary rehab department on the first floor of Olympic Plaza and includes cardiovascular and strength training exercise with individualized progression of exercise intensity and duration. Patients also receive instruction on lifestyle modification and preparation for a fitness membership at an ETMC Olympic Center or unsupervised exercise at home.
