The ETMC Cancer Institute offers hope to those in our region facing cancer and its challenges. Our mission is to prevent, detect and treat cancer with dedication to the health of the people of East Texas. To fulfill that mission we have created a cancer program that has no equal in our region.
Our program includes:
- Radiation oncology
- IMRT
- Specialized inpatient care
- Cancer conferences
- Cancer data registry
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- Surgical oncology
- Brachytherapy (prostate implant)
- Mammography (including a mobile mammography unit)
- Mammosite Radiation Therapy system
- Screening programs
- Cancer support services
The institute is also the home of CyberKnife of Texas
Additionally, ETMC is approved to conduct clinical trials, so cancer patients can benefit from some of the newest treatments.
A highly experienced staff brings quality to the ETMC cancer program. The medical oncologists and radiation oncologists have excellent credentials, including, in some cases, board certification in two or more specialty areas.
