One with East Texas

The East Texas Medical Center Foundation and the ETMC Cancer Institute held a special tournament for a special cause:  the Henry M. Bell, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting ETMC's cancer outreach and services.  The event offers a full afternoon of recreation and socialization.

Tournament Information 
The 12th annual Henry M. Bell, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, benefitting the ETMC Cancer Institute, was Monday, September 17 at Willow Brook Country Club. The tournament featured an afternoon of recreation and socialization including a four-person scramble for men and women golfers, with a shotgun start.

Over 23 teams participated in this years tournament.

History of the Tournament 
Since the inception of the Henry M. Bell, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament in 2001, the event has raised more than $250,000 as part of ETMC's cancer awareness and early diagnosis programs. The tournament also honors the late Henry M. Bell, Jr., former Chairman of the Board of the ETMC Foundation and long-term supporter of the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System. We extend special thanks to the Bell family and our sponsors, players and volunteers who make this tournament a success each year in support of ETMC's mission of care.

The East Texas Medical Center Cancer Institute illustrates ETMC's dedication to the people of East Texas though its ongoing efforts in early diagnosis, education, research and state-of-the-art patient care. The Cancer Institute holds the prestigious accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
