General Diet
Your physician will order a diet to meet your personal nutritional needs. Should you have questions concerning your diet or need assistance with your menu selections, please ask your nurse or dietitian for assistance.

You will receive a daily menu from which you may choose a variety of meals to meet your dietary needs as prescribed by your physician. Generally, serving times are breakfast, 7:30 a.m.; lunch, 12 noon; and dinner, 5 p.m. Portions may be adjusted to suit your appetite.

Modified Diet
Your physician may order a modified diet or special meal plans for you such as salt restricted, calorie restricted, low cholesterol, bland, etc. While on this modified diet, be sure not to eat any other food without first checking with your nurse or dietitian.

Transition Diet
You may be placed on a liquid diet. Generally, these diets are used prior to certain tests or as a progression to solid food.
