Level III Designation
ETMC Athens was the first hospital in East Texas designated a Level III trauma center by the Texas Department of State Health Services. To qualify for this ranking, our facility underwent a rigorous designation process that examined the level of training, planning for specialized trauma needs, advanced planning and long-term recovery options. What that means to our community is that they are assured quality care at a time they need it most.
Emergency Care
Help is just minutes away for Henderson County residents at ETMC Athens. Patients can expect the care of a physician available around the clock.
ETMC Emergency Medical Service (EMS) provides ambulance service to and from the hospital, with air ambulance transport also available from Air 1 helicopters, one of which is stationed at ETMC Athens. Non-emergency transfers are also available by calling (800)255-2011.
