ETMC Henderson's birth registry team has been awarded the
'Exemplary Five Star Award' by the Texas Department of State Health
Services' Vital Statistics Unit.
Criteria for the award include timeliness of releasing birth
certificates to the state, accuracy of birth certificates, training
through the state's vital statistics conferences, receipt of the
Office of Attorney General Award for Acknowledgement of Paternity
and receipt of the Department of State Health Services ImmTrac (the
Texas immunization registry) Award for Excellence. Only 20
hospitals in Texas were awarded the 'Exemplary Five Star
Award.'
ETMC Henderson's birth registry team is composed of Lisa Watts,
birth registrar; Brenda Riley, medical records supervisor; Kay Nix,
release of information clerk and Anita Jacobs, RHIT, director of
health information management.
"We are so honored to receive this award," said ETMC Henderson
Administrator Mark Leitner. "It represents the commitment of our
birth registry team to going above and beyond to deliver excellence
each and every day. Their efforts and achievements are reflective
of our hospital as a whole and the level of care we strive to
provide."
The award will be presented during the 58th Annual
Texas Vital Statistics Conference to be held Dec. 5-7 in
Austin.
