Pittsburg, Texas – Beginning Monday, Nov. 7, the ETMC First Physicians clinic in Pittsburg will extend its hours of operation to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
“We know that people get sick and have minor accidents at times other than 8 to 5 on weekdays,” said Perry Henderson, senior administrator at ETMC Pittsburg. “And, we understand that not everyone can leave work or school for a physical or check up. So, we have extended our clinic hours to better meet the needs of our patients. We want to make healthcare more convenient for everyone.”
The ETMC First Physicians clinic in Pittsburg will provide the same services during its extended hours as are currently offered. Patients can schedule evening or Saturday appointments for routine healthcare, such as physicals and immunizations. Walk-in patients with non-emergency needs also will be treated at the clinic.
“We hope that patients will utilize the clinic for non-emergency care, whether it is an illness, such as a cold or the flu, or a minor injury, such as a cut, burn or sprain. This will free up our emergency department for true emergency care and, hopefully, shorten wait times for everyone,” Henderson said. “Another benefit to patients is that a clinic visit is more often less expensive than an emergency department visit.”
Current practitioners at the ETMC First Physicians clinic in Pittsburg will provide care during extended hours.
