Yes, you may bring one person who helps with your diabetes management at no additional cost.

Will my insurance cover Diabetes University?
Medicare and most insurance plans cover diabetes education classes.

What do I need to bring to class?
Please bring a list of the medications you are currently taking, your blood glucose meter if you have one, a food diary if you have one and your insurance card.

Is there a list of foods I can’t eat because of my diabetes?
There is no such list, because there is nothing that a person with diabetes cannot eat.  The key is portion control and at Diabetes University we use carbohydrate counting as a meal planning technique and  individualized the meal plan to suit every person’s unique needs.
